Imagine, a tuna right out of the Bali sea

You have to know where to buy them. There are some little houses on the beach. With friendly smiling people who show you the catch of the day. Probably one hour ago brought ashore by the fishermen. Sitting in the shade they wait for you to come by. What do you want? Proudly they show the fish, stored in big boxes with a lot of ice. Barracuda? Mahi mahi? Or tuna?

The tuna is at least one metre. It looks great; it couldn't be more fresh. But it's way too big. No problem. De lady gets a dangerous looking knife (probably she used it for decades) and while we wait in the shade,  where the children play in the sand, she cuts a piece of the tuna.

They all wave when we leave.

Only a couple hours later we prepared our meal in Villa Bali Mynah. Fresh and delicious.

You have to know where to buy it… Our staff will gladly help you.

Some houses in Bali have many Very Favourite Parts

How many Very Favourite Parts (VFP's) does your house have? A nice balcony? A lush garden? A sunny terrace? A good house should have several VFP's. If you only have an nice balcony, you'll probably get bored soon. Because of a variety of VFP's your house will succeed in surprising you all the time.

I never thought of a house that way, till we had our house in Bali. It has a lot of VFP's.

To start with, the round infinity pool. And of course the terrace next to the pool. The view is magnificent. In the distance you see the blue Bali sea with a couple of sand banks and floating fish wharfs.

Another great VFP is the roof terrace. We created a huge swing bed (3 x 3 mtrs.), in which you gently swing in the shade while overlooking the valley and the village. You could throw a party on the roof terrace. We had a band playing up there sometimes.

The bathrooms are great VFP 's. They are open, big (appr. 40 square metres) and very zen. We planted trees in them, so they're more or less 'bath gardens'. The leaves of the trees form a green roof. Especially in de evening, when the lights are turned on, it feels like the decor of a fairy tale.

The living room is also a VFP. Completely open, surrounded by the garden with beautiful trees and flowers. While you enjoy a nice breeze (almost every day because of the mountains) you have a wonderful view of the valley and the sea at one side, the mountains at the backside.

Last but not least: the bedrooms. Because of the warm teakwood and the minimalistic concrete. Because of the great beds with fantastic mattresses. But especially because of the stunning view if you open the curtains in the morning.

A good house has many Very Favourite Parts. A great house has nothing but VFP's.
