Some houses in Bali have many Very Favourite Parts

How many Very Favourite Parts (VFP's) does your house have? A nice balcony? A lush garden? A sunny terrace? A good house should have several VFP's. If you only have an nice balcony, you'll probably get bored soon. Because of a variety of VFP's your house will succeed in surprising you all the time.

I never thought of a house that way, till we had our house in Bali. It has a lot of VFP's.

To start with, the round infinity pool. And of course the terrace next to the pool. The view is magnificent. In the distance you see the blue Bali sea with a couple of sand banks and floating fish wharfs.

Another great VFP is the roof terrace. We created a huge swing bed (3 x 3 mtrs.), in which you gently swing in the shade while overlooking the valley and the village. You could throw a party on the roof terrace. We had a band playing up there sometimes.

The bathrooms are great VFP 's. They are open, big (appr. 40 square metres) and very zen. We planted trees in them, so they're more or less 'bath gardens'. The leaves of the trees form a green roof. Especially in de evening, when the lights are turned on, it feels like the decor of a fairy tale.

The living room is also a VFP. Completely open, surrounded by the garden with beautiful trees and flowers. While you enjoy a nice breeze (almost every day because of the mountains) you have a wonderful view of the valley and the sea at one side, the mountains at the backside.

Last but not least: the bedrooms. Because of the warm teakwood and the minimalistic concrete. Because of the great beds with fantastic mattresses. But especially because of the stunning view if you open the curtains in the morning.

A good house has many Very Favourite Parts. A great house has nothing but VFP's.
